Setting up and embedding website chat

Configure the design, languages, allowed websites and embedding.

Where to find this feature: Hotel settings → Website chat

Preparing the chat

  1. Arrange module activation with StaySend and open Website chat.
  2. Under “Activation & websites”, enter the HTTPS websites actually used. Enter one exact origin per line, consisting of protocol, host and port if applicable, without a page path or wildcards.
  3. Configure the hotel name, images, colours, font, position and size.
  4. Enable German, Italian and English as needed and maintain the greeting and suggested questions in each language.
  5. Deliberately select the required features and save the configuration.

Embedding in the website

  1. Under “Embedding”, choose the “Floating” code for an expandable chat or “Inline” for a chat within the page content.
  2. Copy the embed code generated in the hotel account and have your website team insert it.
  3. On the actual website, check desktop and mobile views, the greeting, language and chat availability.
  4. Open a test conversation and check that it appears in Messages.

If the chat does not appear

Check the exact website address, including any www subdomain, the saved configuration and activation. Your website team can help with HTTPS or embedding restrictions. A standard embed does not guarantee browser notifications on all devices.

Continuing the chat and waiting indicator

The embedded chat allows guests to continue an existing session or deliberately start a new chat. It shows processing progress while preparing a reply. This indicator does not confirm availability, delivery or a completed hotel action.
